An opaque body reflects or absorbs most of the incident radiation, so its absorptivity (α) is relatively high, its reflectivity (ρ) is also relatively high, and its transmissivity (τ) is low. However, the sum of absorptivity, reflectivity, and transmissivity for an opaque body is typically close to 1, as it either absorbs or reflects nearly all incident radiation and transmits very little.

In summary, absorptivity, reflectivity, and transmissivity are related to each other such that for any given material, the sum of these three parameters is equal to 1. The exact values depend on the material and its properties.
